importing jira issuesOlivier Lamy 2011-06-29, 10:33
Hello Folks
I remember you wanted to import to @asf jira issues from cloudera jira instance. It looks you will have to upgrade your jira instance first. As I can see cloudera one is 4.2.2 whereas asf one is 4.3.4. I wonder if it's planned to upgrade ? Thanks, -- Olivier Lamy http://twitter.com/olamy | http://www.linkedin.com/in/olamy

I would rather send an e-mail to infra mailing list and seek for advice or help.

Hello Olivier, Mohammad,
Thanks for checking up on the Jira migration. I just confirmed with Cloudera infrastructure team that there is a planned upgrade of Jira to version 4.3.4 that is expected to be complete by July 15th, if not sooner. I will inform you as soon as the upgrade is complete and Cloudera Jira is ready for migration. In the meantime, it will be great if we can identify anything else that need be done in order to facilitate the migration. Thanks, Arvind On Wed, Jun 29, 2011 at 7:13 AM, Mohammad Nour El-Din <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I would rather send an e-mail to infra mailing list and seek for advice or help. > > On Wed, Jun 29, 2011 at 12:33 PM, Olivier Lamy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> Hello Folks >> I remember you wanted to import to @asf jira issues from cloudera jira instance. >> It looks you will have to upgrade your jira instance first. >> As I can see cloudera one is 4.2.2 whereas asf one is 4.3.4. >> >> I wonder if it's planned to upgrade ? >> >> Thanks, >> -- >> Olivier Lamy >> http://twitter.com/olamy | http://www.linkedin.com/in/olamy >> > > > > -- > Thanks > - Mohammad Nour > Author of (WebSphere Application Server Community Edition 2.0 User Guide) > http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg247585.html > - LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/mnour > - Blog: http://tadabborat.blogspot.com > ---- > "Life is like riding a bicycle. I am sure about that, I used git once to make a git repo out of an SVN
one, if you would like I can look for the opposite operation, but in either case I will not have the access to the SVN repo of Apache Sqoop, but at least I can list the steps here. I will try to have a look at that during the weekend. I was wrong, I have access to the SVN repo, then I can do the whole
thing, again I will try it out during the weekend. I added a 'sandbox' directory for importing the initial code import there and hence core committers can start copying it to the correct place when they make sure that all is OK. Hi Olivier,
The Cloudera Jira instance that currently hosts Sqoop (and Flume) jiras is now upgraded to version "Atlassian JIRA (v4.3.4#620-r152668) ". Please let me know what the next steps are in terms of migrating it over to Apache Jira. One related question - how would the migration resolve users between the two Jiras? A userid x on Cloudera Jira may correspond to a different person on Apache Jira. Re: importing jira issuesArvind Prabhakar 2011-07-15, 00:18
Hi,
An update on the JIRA migration issue: We made an attempt at exporting the JIRA instance from Cloudera but realized that it contained personally identifiable information of end users. Since such information is protected by privacy laws and end-user agreements, this export cannot be handed over to ASF as-is. We are actively trying to find alternate means accomplishing this. I will share any developments with all as they occur. Thanks, Arvind On Fri, Jul 8, 2011 at 11:04 AM, Arvind Prabhakar <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Thanks Olivier.
