We should put something up on the site about 0.94.1 being released.
It's been a while since a release announcement was on the
hbase.apache.org front page.

I agree. The site looks a bit stale in terms of announcements.

This should be automated as part of the release process. Can Maven push site and artifacts both? We might as well try to gain its benefits?

Also consider adding a div for displaying tweets from @HBase. We had a release announcement in the twitterverse that would have appeared if so.

Maven currently pushes site.  See section 15.4 in the reference guide.
 Any committer can do it.

We could do that.. (Anyone know how to do it?).

On announcing releases, I kinda punted on that thinking it not that
interesting...

I suppose its time we had a bit of a meetup?  Its a couple of months
now since last one.
