(bcc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]<mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>)

Moving to cdh-user since this is CDH specific

No worries,

All the opposite, thanks a lot for you help. After looking at those places you told me, now I have less places to look at.

Cheers,

Done, unfortunately the output remain the same.

with both,

<property>
  <name>javax.jdo.option.ConnectionURL</name>
  <value>jdbc:mysql://localhost/metastore?createDatabaseIfNotExist=true</value>
  <description>JDBC connect string for a JDBC metastore</description>
</property>

commented and uncommented.

Add
127.0.0.1       localhost

Comment
#127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomainloghost

So the file should look like

127.0.0.1       localhost
#127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomainloghost
10.240.81.72 myhost.myemployer.com<http://myemployer.com> myhost

I did it. It seems to get connected to the metastore at least for a moment, but then the connection is lost.

This is the output:
