Re: remote hbase connection failure
Try to give hostname with mapped ip in hosts file instead of IP

Try

# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 myserver localhost.localdomain localhost
::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6

Change it to:
 # Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 myserver localhost.localdomain localhost
::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
x.x.x.x myserver

Where x.x.x.x is the IPv4 address of your server and myserver is your
server name.
