Certain services on minotaur.apache.org are down.

That's right.
I temporarily disabled testInstantSchemaOperationsInZKForMasterFailover which didn't fail on PreCommit builds (ever) but failed on Jenkins. Subbu is rewriting the test so that we can have deterministic behavior. There were two hanging tests:
Hanging test: Running org.apache.hadoop.hbase.master.TestOpenedRegionHandler Hanging test: Running org.apache.hadoop.hbase.master.TestDistributedLogSplitting They passed on my MacBook when I ran them standalone. I guess a hanging zookeeper cluster might have complicated the situation. Gaojinchao,
I think there might be a general class of flakyness having to do with region assignment/opening not being synchronous. Do you think this might be related? https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-4852 The root of the problem in HBASE-4852 is that even though open/assign has returned from the master/admin point of view, it may not have completed opening the region on the region server. I'm guessing there might be something to ensure regions are loaded before continuing that I just haven't found yet... Thanks, Jon.
