I understand that there are rules. What are these rules? Is it Hive vs hadoop ( this I understand) or apache  hadoop vs a specific distribution? ( this I am not clear about.)

Is there something special about the CDH distro?

Maybe this is about a specific connector from cloudera.

I am not sure I understand, is there a way to achieve this kind of
