There are at least two developers in or close to Munich I am aware of.
You should contact @larsgeorge - he expressed interest in a Munich
Hadoop User Group as well.

I am working on getting a Munich HUG meeting going, which would happen
in between the Berlin ones. I am looking currently for a sponsor that
would offer a room and projector. If I get that organized I would simply
set a date and send an invitation on the usual channels and "the
internet machine" ;)

Would you be able to help finding a place?

We looked into this last year sfter not being able to attend the Berlin
meetings after the first (time constraints). We had discussed with a firm
for space and they were positive.
Three of us here would be interested and willing to help with the logistics
and finding space.

Sounds great! What would the lead time to book the space be? Given
Isabel is doing her meeting on Dec 16th I am wondering what a good time
would be for a Munich HUG meeting. Maybe late January (to wait for those
who have a longer break)? Or a really short term one 14 days ahead of hers?

Would you also be up for a presentation on a related topic? If you like

Lars,

Will email this evening. In the mean time will speak to the folks who we had
requested the space from. I would guess that Jan would be better so we have
time to set up everything. However it may be good to arrange a meetup in
Munich prior to this. We are near Erding and so only about 40 minutes away.
The space is near Ost Bahnhoff.
