I tried applying the "CHUKWA-4.2.patch" to chukwa-0.3.0 version today and
it doesn't seem to work for me.  I still get the exception

"cannot rename dataSink
file:/chukwa/logs/201227123459882_H3M1_2087670d13520a9e6328000.chukwa
java.io.IOException: Filesystem closed".  I am using the
PipelineStageWriter with just the SeqFileWriter in it...just to make sure
it wasn't one of my pipeline writers.

Is this patch for version 0.4.0 of chukwa?  It doesn't have a version
assigned to the JIRA: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CHUKWA-4

Hey Corbin,

Thanks for participating, this patch actually addresses the case when you
have configured collector to write to a local directory first and then
.done files are moved to HDFS by the LocalToRemoteHdfsMover.

Unfortunately, if you are using the default configuration of writing to
HDFS directly, this won't help. By the way, this is still an open issue. So
if u'd care to open a new JIRA for it and contribute a patch that would be
great!
