I'd like to propose a little get-together at Cloudera's Palo Alto office some evening next week. I'm proposing next week primarily for selfish reasons, as I'll be in town and it'd be nice to see those in the Bigtop community who I haven't seen much since leaving California. It would also be a good time to perhaps look at the new Gradle build system, polish up some finishing touches on the 0.8.0 release, hack on other stuff or simply socialize. I'd be happy to arrange a remote hangout as well.
Just to get a stake in the ground, shall we say, Tuesday (July 26th) evening, perhaps 5:30 onward? Who would be able to come? Is there another time or day that might work better?
5:30 is probably the worst possible time to travel to Palo from anywhere outside of Palo Alto ;) But it seems most of you guys are nearby, so I will try to make it - perhaps will come earlier and hang around working on some stuff from a coffee place nearby.
Also, be advised that Next Tuesday is July 22nd. The date you mentioned is next Saturday. Which one is correct?

Let's go with Tuesday, July 22nd. Sounds like it is as good a day as any next week, though it'll be a shame if Roman and Cos are indeed away the whole week. You'll all just have to have another Bigtop meetup with out me until the official start time. On Tue, Jul 15, 2014 at 11:38 AM, Peter Linnell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Thanks, Peter! So far we have Peter, Bruno, Mark, Julien, Doug, me, and possibly Cos. I'll plan for a few more anyway, but please do speak up if you intend to be there so we can plan accordingly! And if anyone would like to participate remotely let me know and I'll set up a webcam + hangout.
As for the agenda, I'd personally like to have a group walkthrough of the Gradle code to familiarize ourselves with the system (which I'd be happy to lead, although those more qualified are welcome to volunteer), and just a time for hacking on remaining 0.8.0 issues and socializing. Any requests or offers of presentations that the group might enjoy? On Wed, Jul 16, 2014 at 12:23 PM, Peter Linnell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

By the way, Cloudera's Palo Alto office is now located at 1001 Page Mill Road Bldg 2, Palo Alto, CA 94304. For those who have visited before, this may be a different address than what you're used to. We'll be meeting on the southwest corner of the building where there is a back entrance, but we'll keep an eye on the front door as well. If you plan to arrive early, feel free to email me privately for my cell phone number so I can let you in when you get here. On Thu, Jul 17, 2014 at 9:56 AM, Sean Mackrory <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
