I'm going to be there, talking about Hadoop testing: Junit -> MrUnit, -> minimr -> single host, sampling, how to ramp to production scale 2. Isabel would like us to have a Hadoop Hackathon, which could be @Nokia (big Hadoop users) on the thursday. I could come to this, but will be flying home early afternoon, and am too busy with my talk and unrelated work deadlines to organise a hackathon. I do think it would be good to have a hadoop hackathon of a sort there, and if someone wants to take up the challenge of organising a more detailed hadoop hackathon, maybe with some discussion of the MR 2.0 engine, etc. Who else from the -user and -dev lists will be there and is willing to help put this together? -steve

I can do a tour of the MR-279 codebase but I am currently flying out on the afternoon of Wednesday. Let me see if I can change the flight bookings. I'll be heading there too, probably there till Thursday/Friday so could attend a hackathon after the conference. It would be great if it wasn't the same time as the HBase hackathon which is planned for the 8th, or could be combined with it if it's better on the Wednesday? I'm not sure who's organising that... I will try to determine a location nearby the buzz, make a reservation and post to the appropriate lists. Actually, I just heard from Isabel that there will be a Buzzwords barbecue that evening. Should we all just meet there and then adjourn for beers after dinner? Sorry about that, I checked the programme and pinged Isabel to make sure we don't get in conflict with the conf. And I definitively don't want to miss that so...
