Pulled the RC into Bigtop (both Hadoop 1.0 and Hadoop 0.23 branches).
Built, deployed and ran HBase tests on all 6 of the supported Linux
platforms.

It doesn't sound like a big deal to me, but ClientPortBindTest is failing consistently to me due to this issue: ZOOKEEPER-1256.

I checked that the same patch that was applied to trunk also applies to the 3.4 branch and fixes the problem.

Flavio,
 As I see it, this is not a blocker for the RC since the tests pass on
linux boxes and is only an issue with the TestCase. I think the RC is
a good candidate without the jira. What do you think?

and ran a couple of tests on it. Also ran the unit tests and it
worked.

the tests successfully. I tried starting some servers. I also verified
ZOOKEEPER-1367 using the method outlined in the jira and that was all
fine.
