This notification was late by a day.
I once reverted Jonathan's fix but the test failure persisted. So I resubmitted his fix again. Re: Build failed in Jenkins: HBase-TRUNK #2228Ted Yu 2011-09-18, 14:35
I have used the following script to try reproducing test failure on Linux
machine: for (( i = 0 ; i <= 60; i++ )) do mvn test -Dtest=TestSlabCache > wwg/TestSlabCache.$i mvn test -Dtest=TestSingleSizeCache > wwg/TestSingleSizeCache.$i done All the tests passed without any hung surefire process. It would be nice if we can obtain trace from the build machine. Another option is to temporarily disable some tests in TestSlabCache Cheers On Sat, Sep 17, 2011 at 5:56 PM, Stack <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Again all tests pass but on the end we fail for some reason. Let me try disabling TestSlabCache for now and see if it indeed the culprit.

I think disabling TestSlabCache would suffice to make build pass. From
https://builds.apache.org/view/G-L/view/HBase/job/HBase-TRUNK/2231/console: Running org.apache.hadoop.hbase.io.hfile.slab.TestSlab Tests run: 1, Failures: 0, Errors: 0, Skipped: 0, Time elapsed: 0.14 sec Running org.apache.hadoop.hbase.io.hfile.slab.TestSlabCache Running org.apache.hadoop.hbase.io.hfile.slab.TestSingleSizeCache Tests run: 5, Failures: 0, Errors: 0, Skipped: 0, Time elapsed: 18.699 sec We can see that TestSingleSizeCache was passing. I think testCacheMultiThreadedSingleKey() and testCacheMultiThreadedEviction() could be the real issue. If we don't have time to experiment further, we can just disable TestSlabCache. The test is failing, presumably something is wrong with the implementation (that the test was designed to check). If anything, pull slab cache out of 0.92. I don't recommend that BTW, I'd hope Li Pi can look at the test failures and come up with a fix. I'm unable to reproduce this somehow - not sure why. The test
completes if tested alone - but not when all tests are run? I'll try to jstack it during that particular test. TRUNK build passed.
I ran TestZKBasedOpenCloseRegion#testRSAlreadyProcessingRegion on Linux for 0.92 and it passed as well. We're investigating.

TestMasterFailover? Because no output from it?

On my build machines,
TestMasterFailover.testMasterFailoverWithMockedRITOnDeadRS fails intermittently due to time out fairly frequently on my 0.90, 0.92, and trunk builds. (it is the second most frequent -- probably once of out every 5-10 runs)). I haven't investigated beyond this (I just exclude this as a flaky) but here's some output. Hey Doug,
Actually this is an issue with maven-site-plugin 2.1 not with the acid-semantics.xml. Just figured out that moving maven-site-plugin back to 2.0.1 and downgrading surefire-reports plugin to 2.7.2 does the trick. This looks to be a failure where .tableinfo file schema is being
updated at same time someone is trying to check modtime on .tableinfo. I was thinking we should probably have the stuff that looks at .tableinfo do retries till file comes back? Re: Build failed in Jenkins: hbase-0.90 #324Gary Helmling 2011-10-14, 18:55
So the latest 0.90 build passed and I ran TestLogRolling in a batch of
20 runs with no failures, so there must be an infrequent timing issue in the test. In the test output from the build, it looks like one of the region servers aborted: 2011-10-14 04:40:56,092 FATAL [RegionServer:1;vesta.apache.org,59247,1318566556886.logRoller] regionserver.HRegionServer(1410): ABORTING region server serverName=vesta.apache.org,59247,1318566556886, load=(requests=0, regions=1, usedHeap=155, maxHeap=1244): Failed log close in log roller org.apache.hadoop.hbase.regionserver.wal.FailedLogCloseException: #1318567028016 at org.apache.hadoop.hbase.regionserver.wal.HLog.cleanupCurrentWriter(HLog.java:787) at org.apache.hadoop.hbase.regionserver.wal.HLog.rollWriter(HLog.java:559) at org.apache.hadoop.hbase.regionserver.LogRoller.run(LogRoller.java:96) Caused by: java.io.IOException: Error Recovery for block blk_6581012269291675208_1075 failed because recovery from primary datanode 127.0.0.1:48952 failed 6 times. Some changes to the test to more strictly control when sync is triggered might avoid this. Though that will probably require separating out testLogRollOnPipelineRestart into a separate test case so it can control the cluster config with interfering with the other 2 tests. Maybe actually moving it in to TestLogRollAbort would make sense, since we're testing when we should abort vs. when we shouldn't. I'll open a follow up JIRA. --gh On Fri, Oct 14, 2011 at 12:39 AM, Gary Helmling <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > From Jenkins, the failure was in TestLogRolling.testLogRollOnPipelineRestart, so looks like it. Re: Build failed in Jenkins: HBase-0.92 #93Ted Yu 2011-11-01, 19:18
I tried to reproduce the test failure:
Failed tests: testGlobalMemStore(org.apache.hadoop.hbase.TestGlobalMemStoreSize): expected:<592> but was:<0> ... TestGlobalMemStoreSize#testGlobalMemStore failed, iteration: 3 We should investigate further.
