Call for Workshops: 14th ACM/IFIP/USENIX International Middleware Conference
14th ACM/IFIP/USENIX International Middleware Conference
Beijing, China
9-13 December, 2013

CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS

The Middleware conference traditionally includes a number of high quality
workshops, which are co-hosted with the conference. To continue this
tradition, Middleware 2013 is soliciting proposals for 1-day workshops.
Proposed workshops can be on any topic related to middleware, but we are
particularly seeking new workshops in emerging, new middleware areas.
Workshop proposals should be submitted in PDF format, not exceeding three
pages in total, and be sent to Laurent Réveillère ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and
Hailong Sun ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).

Proposals must include:

- The title of the workshop
- A brief technical description of the workshop topic area
- A short description of the intended length (full/half day) and format of
the workshop
- A brief statement of the relevance of the workshop to Middleware
- The names and e-mail addresses of the organizing committee
- A preliminary list of PC members that have accepted to participate in the
committee
- A description of the organizers' strategy for attracting submissions and
attendees to the workshop, including information about how publicity will
be carried to attract world-wide participation

Each workshop will organize their own publicity, submissions, and
refereeing procedures and will provide their own web page. A link will be
provided to this web page from the Middleware 2013 Web site. The workshop
organizers will have to apply the schedule outlined below. The organizers
of the workshop will ensure that all accepted papers are peer reviewed.
Accepted papers should be no longer than 6 pages in the standard ACM
format. Notice that workshop organizers are responsible for preparing the
papers for their workshops in the format required by ACM. As in previous
years, the Middleware conference organizers will provide companion
proceedings including all workshop papers, which will be available in the
ACM Digital Library. Camera-ready papers will be required by October 11th
2013.

The conference organizers aim for a common timeline for all workshops,
which is presented below.

May 22, 2013 - Workshop proposal submission due date
May 29, 2013 - Workshop proposal acceptance notification
June 23, 2013 - Call for Workshop papers available online
August 23, 2013 - Workshop paper submission due date
